Ingredients
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Spice Depot JoJo Potato Seasoning, Spice Depot Spicy Sea Salt or Spice Depot Sea Salt
Methodology
Peel potatoes and cut lengthwise into cut lengthwise into sticks about ½ inch thick. Soak in a bowl of ice water for 15 minutes or so. Drain and thoroughly pat dry. Arrange in a single layer on an oiled baking sheet and drizzle with oil, turning to coat all sides.
Sprinkle with Spice Depot JoJo Potato Seasoning, Spice Depot Spicy Sea Salt or Spice Depot Sea Salt and bake, turning occasionally, in 450F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
A variation on the traditional French fry shape is to wedge the potatoes. Slice potatoes in half, then half again, then half again until wedges are ½ to 2/4 inch thick. Prepare the same way but keep I mind that they will take longer to bake.
Use ½ teaspoon Spice Depot Sea Salt and one Spice Depot Seafood Seasoning or Spice Depot Salad Seasoning for a nice change of pace. The Spice Depot New York Steak Seasoning and the Spice Depot BBQ Burger Seasoning make crowd-pleasing Super Bowl Party potato wedges.
