Spice Depot customers tell us that we should re-name our Salad Seasoning™ blend of herbs and spices, because they use it on everything imaginable and some not. Ironically, we haven't run across a better name so we are sticking with it. And truth is, unique blend of delicate and pungent flavors are indeed perfectly suited for salads and vegetable dishes of all shapes and sizes - enhancing garden fresh flavors but not overwhelming them.

Spice Depot Salad Seasoning™ is equally at home on cooked and raw vegetable dishes and as an instant dip or salad dressing mix - fresh ground to order each and every time you need it.

Grind a teaspoon or two of Salad Seasoning™ into one cup of plain yogurt, sour cream, cr�me fraiche or mayonnaise for an instant dip for crudite, pretzels, or natural chips. Spread the dip mixture over wild salmon or halibut filets or steaks and grill on the barbeque or under the broiler. Yogurt is an excellent, fast-acting fish marinade and the delicate flavors in Salad Seasoning™ let the fresh flavors of the sea shine through.

Try tossing some quartered green, red, yellow and orange peppers together with thick diagonally sliced zucchini rounds, asparagus spears and some Belgian endive or baby radicchio lettuces cut in half (stems intact but outer leaves pealed) together in a large ziplock bag or bowl. Add a quarter cup good quality olive or grapeseed oil (grapeseed maintains nutritional value at cooking temperatures up to 450F and is a popular anti-oxidant), an eight cup or less of balsamic or red wine vinegar and 15-20 twists of Spice Depot Salad Seasoning™ (or to taste) and toss to coat.

Let the flavors marinate for a bit and then grill the vegetables over high heat on the barbeque, turning when you see good grill marks. Don't overcook as the vegetables will lose their beautiful color. Serve hot or warm as a vegetable course- or serve cold as the world's best antipasto together with kalamata olives, dry cervelat salami, and some thick curls of really good quality organic reggiano or parmigiano cheese.
